The Brant Historical Society will be celebrating Canada’s 150th by hosting a free Fathers of Confederation Picnic at the Myrtleville House Museum Saturday June 17th from 11am – 5pm. This picnic is an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate while enjoying free musical performances and historic demonstrations throughout the day. We invite families to pack a picnic to enjoy on our beautiful grounds. Food vendors and a historic tea room will be available as well. Some highlights of the day will be viewing the Muzzleloaders re-enact life in early Canada and special performances by the Grand River Chorus and Hunters Corner folk group. Children will revel in the traditional Victorian lawn games such as croquet, hoop and stick and egg and spoon races. All are welcome. Free parking available. The event will take place rain or shine.
